So, where are all the guys who said they will attend?

I know of Thys who said he can't make it.

Are we going to do this or not?

We need to decide very soon, for obvious reasons.... in-season, availibility of accomodation, and what ever other personal considerations....

Just 25km south from Colesberg on the N1 to Cape Town, you will find 3-star luxury, rest and relaxation. Safari Park is on the farm, Allanwater, which is owned by Dercksen and Nazell Olivier. It is a halfway stay-over to all the major cities in South Africa (Cape Town - 750km, Johannesburg - 600km, Durban - 900km, Port Elizabeth - 500km).

Accommodation consists of thatched chalets and luxury Safari Tenthouses. The chalets are accessible from the N1 with two double beds, bathroom, shower, TV and a cosy fireplace. Niel, correct me if I'm wrong.

We can get the whole venue for R3500 per day.
I take it we can then choose which ever type of accomodation we like.
Now, if we can be 10 families, that would be R350 per day per family.
The more we are, the less it will cost.
There are 4x4 trails in the vicinity of Safari park, as well as at Safari park itself. - I think

Come on people. This is the ideal opportunity to meet fellow members and make new friendships.

Yes, and it is just outside Colesburg.

Niel jou vraag is 'n goeie vraag. Gaan ons dit doen of nie? Dit help sekerlik nie om net 'n paar mense te wees vir soveel reelings en moeite nie

Soos ek die tipe ding ken gaan daar nog klomp mense nader aan die tyd ook onttrek en dan is dit net ek en jy op die ou end van die dag.... Dit sal jammer wees as dit platval maar ons moet darem redelik 'n paar Hi luxe wees as ons dit 'n saamtrek noem :!:

Eben, ek het gedink dat n mens dit dan eerder dan nader aan die Kaap kan maak en dan maar eerder n streeks ding doen of so iets want hierdie event gaan pear shape op die oomlik maar nou ja kom ons kyk wat gebeur. As ons nie die dinge teen einde Jan kan finaliseer nie dan doen ons maar die streeks ding.Daar is ouens soos Okkie wat gese het hy is daar en dit wys baie commitment, daar is ander wat ongelukkig nie daardie tyd beskikbaar is nie vanwee uiteenlopende redes.

I have been trying to contact Tristan who lives in this small village called Kidsbeach for the last two months, I have even been out to his house, but cannot find him at home, maybe he is in Durban? He will not answer his phone and thus I have no idea where he is.

I am concerned about various things at my work, things are not going too good there, our orders are low and thus I do not want to commit myself to something having this worry in my head at the same time, once I have spoken to Tristan, then we will decide :?

Maybe he is stuck in some rut with his Hilux in The Transkei and is waiting for a Landy to come along to pull him out

Some advice, to note, with the currect situation concerning the recession and such that is happening all over the world, South Africa is also been effected by this, please take this into thinking, as there are other financial items that requuire attention beofre people can spend money on weekends away like this.

As Simoan advised us a weeken like this to me would meen R3000 for petrol and going there, Play around and come back I have to stay over someware say R1500 and then Food and Drink for four people , say 6 days R3000 ads up to R7500 and that is just thumb suck so ??????????????

An still there is the problem of leave it's just not gona make it

I spoke to the owner of the Safari Park this morning to inform him of the cancellation of our provisional booking. He told me that they had serious damage and they will not have been able to accommodate us in any case. Sorry guys but this event is Cancelled.

We will maybe do something next year.
