I see the last post was around 2014 -- has anyone been in the area recently ?
Tembe Elephant reserve, is there camping and can you do self drive there?
Any suggestions (camping) other than Bhanga Beach camp you would recommend?

Hello.
There is no camping inside Tembe. Only a lodge. You can however self drive there. I was last there the beginning of last year, and it was awesome. In terms of alternate accommodation near Tembe, consider Ndumo game reserve. It about 15min from the entrance to Tembe. Or, you can stay at Shemula lodge (Shemula has camping), which is about halfway between both Ndumo and Tembe. My preference would be Ndumo.

In terms of other recommendations, I would suggest Mabibi.
