Hi All
A mate has an Isuzu 320 Petrol 4x4. He wants to convert the front diff to a SFA. I hear it can be done using a Toyota SFA. What type of Toyota SFA can he use and ratio of diff. Thanks

Re: converting Isuzu 320 to SFA
The Toyota SFA diff is 4,88 : 1 ratio, but there are other ratio options that might match his Isuzu rear diff. He should look for models '88 through '98, they all had the same front axle.
However for all the work and expense he is going to encounter he might as well sell the Isuzu and buy a Toyota SFA - if he is patient and looks around he should be able to get a fairly decent one for about 70 - 80K. He'll probably be looking at about 35K for the conversion if he does installation work himself, (source axle & diff / recondition seals / C & P to match front & rear diffs / a host of steering components / modify engine sump and oil pick-up .... the list goes on).
Then don't forget the few weeks down time. He'd be much better off and save a packet by just getting a Toyota.

sure many of us agree .... but oom Sakkie would see that as war talk !!pietpetoors wrote:No laughing matter, Andy made a valid point
sad reality is that you NEVER get money back on these conversions ! Thus rather just buy the Toyota and get done with it.
