Just thought I share this with you guys,

After owning various 2.7's since 2002 on the 4x4, changing the oil filter was always a B!tch to change when doing it from behind the front right wheel, since getting the filter out and over the drive shaft etc...

Anyways I was replacing the radiator and had the sump guard off and to my suprise after 14 yrs........
Its easier to replace the oil filter with the sump guard off from the front of the vehicle. :yahoo: :yahoo:

Oh, that's how I've been doing it ever since I got my 2.7, didn't bother going through the wheel opening and now I know whyB-)
Still a mission to do with the bashguard off, and impossible not to spill or do you have a handy trick to avoid spilling?

I also take the bashplate off. Actually I did a basic service yesterday and wondered about how not to spill oil everywhere when removing the filter.

It looks like I worked on a landy when im done with the service! ;-)

I cut the top off a two liter coke bottle, place it over the oil filter and then use an old screw driver which i have sharpened. Works like a charm and never mess oil.

Excellent idea! I shudder to think how many innocent interlocks had to suffer because I didn't think off this
