Pretoria Care for the Aged becomes part of the crime statistics! We need your help!
Yesterday Pretoria Care for the Aged became part of the crime statistics of South Africa. One of our vehicles was stolen. The social worker’s laptop was also in the car.
The vehicle was used to deliver essential social services to the elderly in the North of Pretoria. Some of these services include home based care and delivery of food parcels.
Without these essential services these elderly people become destitute and without a vehicle the social worker is stranded and the ones suffering from this crime is the elderly.
As we know – it is more often than not the small things that makes a difference – and the “small” thing we need right now is funds to replace the vehicle for our social worker. Yes, the insurance will pay however the car was old and the payment from the insurance will not cover the costs to replace the vehicle.
What we need?
We will receive approximately R25 000 from our insurance which is not nearly enough to replace a vehicle and laptop. We need R100 000 to replace the vehicle and laptop.
Pretoria Care for the Aged is a registered non-profit welfare organization rendering social work services to the elderly in Pretoria and surrounding areas. It is our policy to do the greatest possible good for the greatest possible number of people, with no thought of who deserve help, but only of who needs help.
