I always wanted to go to Malawi and its time! I want to go to Monkey Bay so if anyone can give information on route options, places to stay and formalities.
I am planning on going December 2015 or perhaps Easter 2016.

Wayne, when exactly in December. Im also planning n trip up north to Tanzania. Planning so far to leave the 4 December. Going through Bots, Zambia, Malawi then Tanzania, back through Mozam. Maybe we can travel the first parts together?
How many days you looking at traveling and how many do you want to spend there?

Having a 12 second Honda is just like coming out of the closet; You're going to surprise a bunch of people, but in the end you're still gay.

You need 17 leave days to take leave from the 5 December to 3 Jan. Last day of work is then the 4 dec and back to work the 4 Jan.

Re: Lake Malawi - Monkey Bay
I've been to lake Malawi via Zim (chance to visit Vic falls!), Zambia and then into Malawi and back through Moz and into Zim again. Google "Sunbird hotels"(Nkopola lodge), they operate very nice hotels around lake Malawi, Senga bay also very nice, Ku Chawe (Also Sunbird) in the Zomba highland - Malawi, cheaper than a rondavel at Tsipise at the time (B&B). I did this trip on a motorbike, roads are good but some places like Zambia it is narrow, lots of traffic - all sorts!
