Garmin Alerts - Other formats?

I just got a reminder that my subscription to traffic speed trap alerts will expire.
It is for a Nuvi 3597LMT
To renew for a year is something like R380 per year.
Are there any other ways of getting this data?

I got the same unit. cant understand that you get life time free maps but have to pay for traffic alerts. I decided to just drive slower (most of the time in anyway). refusing to pay for traffic alerts. maybe someone else can help us out.

I remember in the past it was easy to download for free, but it is now an annual subscription

If you use the poi loader software from Garmin it does work.
