The Company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who will have oversight of all IT systems and infrastructure relating to Company operations and requirements.

Primary Core Job Functions:
• Essential function: design, maintain and optimise virtualisation environments and VMWare applications. Handle Virtual Private Networks support.
• Responsible for all aspects relating to Information Technology and related areas within the business units, as well as the seamless functioning with, and supporting to, service providers, partners, dealers, internal clients, group companies and end-customers.
• Support all ICT related services for business partner integration, API’s etc. Track and improve internal customer support processes. Manage and support junior resource(s) and optimise 2nd and 3rd tier support. Perform network management duties. Train staff and dealers. Customer-site assistance and implementation.
• Develop the Information Systems strategy ensuring it meets the Group's business objectives. Review and improve IT policies on an ongoing basis.
• Responsible for managing/maintaining the current and prevailing infrastructure as well as long term planning, designing and implementing upgrades and improvements as well as new products and solutions. Share all planned work, hardware and software forecasting and plans with stake holders.
• Manage IT infrastructure, architecture design, maintain redundancy, and proactively manage business units against risk and exposure. Capacity and disaster recovery planning and management. Ensure maximum system uptime and availability.
• Project management.
• Maintaining all IT documentation and documented change control to the acceptable industry levels. Review network documentation against regulatory & security standards, best practices and company requirements. Ensure FCAPS is maintained.
• Assist Telemetry Manager with technology and R&D research. Keep yourself abreast of the latest development and innovations related to the product and solution offerings of the business units.
• Provide consultancy and design customised services according to the needs of customers and dealers.
Qualifications and experience
Candidates need only apply if they are able to demonstrate all of the following competencies through past experience:

General Qualification:
• Minimum Higher Education qualification in Telecommunications, Engineering or Information Technology-related discipline is required and / or industry certification.
Specific Experience
• 10 years’ experience in related field. Competent management skills and at least 5-years related management experience
• VMware vCenter Server 5.5/ OS (vCenter, Lab Manager, ESX, etc).
• Windows Server 2008 R2 / 2012 R2 environment
• Active Directory / DNS / DHCP / etc
• Microsoft Exchange 2010 / 2013
• Clusters
• SAN storage systems
• VoIP / PABX
• Layer 3 Networking / Routing / Switching / VLans / Jumbo Packets / etc
• Firewalls and Security
• WAN / MPLS / APNs
• Network monitoring / SNMP / PRTG
• Veeam Backup System
• Linux / FreeBSD
• Anti Virus
• Server Hardware
• A good understanding of data centre environments including maintaining high availability, diagnosing performance issues, disaster recovery etc.
