RFAD - 8 March 14 @ BASE 4 - Important notice p2
Guys, it is that time of year again for the 2014 Reach for a Dream fun day.
PLEASE SEE IMPORTANT NOTICE ON PAGE 2
Last year we made a huge name for ourselves so let us go out and do even better this time round and hopefully take top honours...
Please come and support the Hilux4x4 club this year. Come out in numbers and cheer the Hilux4x4 club team. Let us go out and show them what we as a club stand for.
The event will take place @ Base 4
Closing date for entries will be the 25th of February 2014.
Entry costs are only R100 for CLUB members & R250.00 for non club members and the bonus is that you will be helping children realise their dreams.
We are looking for 10 teams (10 vehicles) as well as at least 5 backup teams for those unforeseen withdrawals.
Those who want to participate please send me a PM with you e-mail address and I will forward you the entry form for completion. Please do not send the entry forms directly to RFAD. Return them to me and I will send them through to RFAD as to avoid similar issues as we had last year.
Payments to be made into the club account with RFAD + forum name as reference.
Please contact me should you have any questions on 076 122 3744

I understand WHY they didn't want the grab hooks as recovery points....
Im NOT saying they are no good but here is the MAIN reason...
Recovery Grab Hooks have one shearing point....
Recovery Pointe (eyes) have 2 shearing points making them stronger.....

The thing is that require rated recovery points and the hook recovery points are rated... it's as simple as that... don't exceed that rating and all is wellMOFASA wrote:Ali3n wrote:Okay guys I have fought the battle on our teams behalf and have won.

I hear your argument and agree to an extent BUT keep in mind that the IFS Hilux has standard factory fitted grab hooks in front. They are rated recovery points as well as most after market hooks. Keeping that in mind all recovery points and gear is only as strong as its weekest point.MOFASA wrote:Ali3n wrote:Okay guys I have fought the battle on our teams behalf and have won.

Re: RFAD Fun Day 2014 - 8 March 2014 @ BASE 4
Thnks Cassie for updating the details.
Just a quick update.
So due to unforeseen circumstances unfortunately RFAD was unable to secure Rhino park for this year and had to find a new venue. I was at a meeting on Friday with RFAD, BASE4 and the organisers of the event. It was a productive meeting and the decision was made to use BASE4. On Saturday we met up again at BASE4 to run through the trail and mark out the obstacles as well as discuss some of the logistics of the event.
Guys, this one is going to be a huge event and ALL are welcom. Bring the kids, there will be entertainmen5 for them. There is a pool (will have a full time attendant for the kids) and there will be many stalls. Make it a fun day out for the whole family.
Camping can be arranged and we have been invited to attend their open day on the Sunday as well.
Regarding the recovery point that slides into the square tubing will be allowed if it is rated.
If there are any questions, please ask.
Please confirm that you will be able to attend if you have put your name on the list.

Re: RFAD Fun Day 2014 - 8 March 2014 @ BASE 4
I have some exciting news to share with everyone!!!
4x4 Direct has come forward and said that they will be sponsoring R1 000.00 towards the entry fees for this year’s RFAD for all CLUB Members taking part.
Guys, this is a huge sponsorship for the team and Club and we would like to say thank you to Pieter and his team at 4x4 Direct.
The Hilux4x4 Club have matched this offer and the organizing committee have decided to distribute this donation to further subsidize the entrant fees to CLUB Members taking part, with an additional R50 per entrant.
This means that each team (Club member) only needs to pay R100 to register for this event.
The rest of the donation will be used towards promoting the Hilux 4x4 Club on the day!
Thank you to 4x4 Direct and Hilux4x4 Club for their support!

Will still be attending.
To the power that be...what will be the dresscode?
Me thinks it whould be nice if all the team members wear or try to wear the same(club) wear.
Maybe the (club)golf shirt with denim or khaki any suggestions?
