Ok, we worked until 2hoo on sat morning, Luxter was ready, we gave him a quick wash and left for the challenge, but as i hooked third gear there was this clunking, grinding noise and i had a box full of neutrals. The 25 year old box had enough abuse and the input & cluster gear stripped.
Oom Leon was kind enough to lend us his garden service truck without a front prop, we raced to his house, picked the Hilux up, fitted a propshaft, recovery hooks and a fire extinguisher and we were still in time for the first obstacle. The bad luck didn't stop there, the std front prop was to short and every time we tried to clear an obstacle, the splines jumped out, by the fourth one, i had enough and called it a day.
Congrats to Dino and Mike, Well driven!

Hoppy and Werner worked until the early hours getting Luxter shipshape. Bright and early next morning, one small detail to complete on Luxter so I went to the service station to put in fuel and wait for Hoppy and Werner, and Luxter drove into the service station with this terrible clunking sound... Anyway my job of photographer for the day was still on so with a loaned Hilux from Leon we were off to Dirt and Dust. Supporters, the Gomad team spent the day at the event...
