Good Day Hilux'ers,
I have already introduced myself and added my Hilux history here: viewtopic.php?f=136&t=26197.
In July 2011, I bought a Beige 1989 2.2 SFA d/c Hilux with a Bro-speed conversion, from a man in Pretoria who didn't care to much about the "bakkie" as he described it.
I drove it home from Pta to Secunda with a "workers" frame installed and canopy strapped on top of that. You must have seen this to appreciate the high tower and a Hilux driving at an angle due to high winds.
On my arrival in Secunda, I phoned my fiance and asked her to meet me outside, I wanted to show off with my new Hilux, she saw me driving around the corner with the Lux and just shook her head :scared: . When I asked her wat she thought, she said, allot of work, and then named my Lux, Snoekie.
She said it reminded her of the Snoek sellers in Cape Town. (She grew up in Franschhoek)
So Snoekie it will be.
Snoekie:
I have since traveled around 16000km with Snoekie, testing everything. Fuel consumption is great(compared to what others claim), ride not to hard but the non power steering is hard on the arms, especially in town.
I have already started with some repairs, will post photo's and continue sharing my story......

Looks like you've got a fair sized task ahead of you, but it will be worth it ...... they're called donkeys for good reason.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!
