Got some info Guys, sounds like a very noble cause.
Dagse Tertius!

Ek is betrokke in my Polisie hoedanigheid, asook ouer.

Die 4x4 dag sal begin by die Gansbaai Sportgronde as kontrole punt.

Hey sorry guys,I kinda drifted off the world wide web there for a while....you know, it is Gansbaai afterall......
I have received tremendous support from you Toy boys, I'm eternally grateful! My tractor is still ploughing on, thanks Nugget! I'll get back to you once the petrol price plummets through the R5 per liter mark.... I had great fun with you guys in Villiersdorp, that's why I know you'll love this! We have secured a beautiful route along the Danger Point coast among others. Some guys with Sandton 4x4's, might want to take the dirt road option instead, as scratches cannot be ruled out. Scenery wise, it promises to be second to none! I still need to post my pics from our previous encounter. Hope the newly weds we met that day are reading this. I'll do my best to keep you updated on this forum. I also started an event on Face Book if anybody wants to invite me, they are welcome....Woensdregt Basson...or just harass old Nugget for other info. Tertius also emailed me, so I'll put him on my mailing list too! Thank you for your support .....Woens, Donder, Vry!!!!

As julle soos ek is, as die wiele draai wil ek by wees. Lekker lang naweek manne en maninne

I now have 2 perlemoen sponsors for a perlemoen potjie, for those who are attending. Gerrie van Eeden from "Wegry" will be asked to come and grade the Flower valley routes for us. Please guys, remember that this works on a first come first served basis, so start twisting the missus' arm! Safe offroading untill then

Full throttle ahead, get your entries in quick! To prevent over crowding, we want to keep it nice and tight...no use waiting for hours at an obstacle...50 vehicles, 5 routes, average of 10 per route and then we hit the potjie stand! Thanks so far for all your support!

Please note that although these routes are relatively car friendly, the weather conditions could deteriorate the course immensely! What's easy today could turn into a steeringwheel wrestling match. WE'LL BE ABLE TO SPOT THE WHALES FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOP...and the Great Whites.
So, DangerPoint route confirmed, 2 Flower Valley routes confirmed, Obstacle course play pen... One of our sponsors collapsed, leaving me to recruit more sponsors. We have a fantastic sponsor so far in Hermanus Toyota who will be providing lucky draw prizes. Other spot prizes will also be available, as you guys come from afar and we rely on your fantastic adventurous spirit! We need R3000 for Murasie Fynbos route, so far 2 private firms/companies offered to contribute. My aim is to give you guys a variety of options. Take note: These routes are NOT hectic , so the the guys with the crawler tracks, 6 wheel drives and designer aftermarket kit might get a bit bored, but it IS beautiful! Bring the rods and the braaigoed! The dj and jumping castle will be awaiting your arrival at the Perlemoen potjie at the starting point: Gansbaai Sportsgrounds. These routes vary from 10km's to 35km's, so if you want to forfeit the potjie to see the Tri-Nations game, it's up to you, but I promise you the potjies will be empty by the closing of business! Very few formalities, so be there by 08.00am. Take pics for us to publish in local papers as well as a photo competition we want to run. If your clubs have experienced marshalls, we'd love to make use of you. I have volunteers, but experience goes a long way! My nr is 0824573291 if you need to get hold of me. Please send me your email addresses too! I'm at woema@hotmail.com
Okay, now lets keep our fingers crossed for a handsome donation on Monday! Remember to invite your buddy along who is an amateur/pro bullbar manufacturer, 4x4 dealer, tyre specialist, gadget guy.....I want to bring our passion to Gansbaai locals, hence the R150 for all the routes, not per route. The Perlemoen will be affordable, as I&J and Roman Bay Seafarm have sponsored enough to feed a nation. Looking forward. All the best....did I answer everything? I don't want this to be a once off, the bigger the smiles, the louder the laughter, the harder I'll fight for more publicity and involvement!
Advanced Entry / Vooraf Betaalde Inskrywings:Sector 2, ABSA Savings Acc. 9275437239, Gansbaai
R150 per vehicle/voertuig, ref/verwysing: "4x4" + name/naam

Travel safely! Greetings! Woens Basson

Allan the last time I spoke to Woens he was talking about farmers actually opening their farms up and allowing us to ride their trails, so we we ride will not always be open to the public. Woens has done lots of recce driving and kissed a lot of backsides to organize trails for us. But will need to let Woens answer about the mountain trail.

Nugget is right by saying I kissed serious backsides and promised we'll behave, if only the locals would open up their routes to us. There is a magnitude of routes in this region, but unfortunately, many routes will have to wait till next year as they won't fit into our program this year. Many farmers want compensation (some quite astronomical).
Well, we have 4 routes confirmed (actually 3 plus the obstacle course). Flower Valley has 2 mountain routes, the DangerPoint coastal route and then there is the Baardskeerdersbos route. Last mentioned is the only one that is not sponsored, so if the pre-bookings come in too slow, I'll have to rely on an alternative route in the area. You can expect breathtaking views from mountaintops (The Twin Peaks near Grootbos Resort), the Stinkhout trail that takes you up to the panoramic viewpoint above the La Mond winery and the gorgeous valleys of Flower Valley and Baardskeerdersbos and the Whalewatchers dream along the DangerPoint coastal route. All these routes are for the whole family (meaning your 2 year old will also enjoy it). No vehicle breakers, not particularly difficult and chances for scratches are slim, but not totally excluded. The obstacle course and the B'bos route is slightly more challenging, but what would the day be without a recovery? Feel free to check some of the pics on my facebook: 4x4FlowerPower family fun day. R150 per vehicle. Perlemoenpotjie will be simmering by the time we get back. Snoek is abundant at the moment, so I'll grab a few Snoekies too. Please don't forget that this is a charity event, so your support and word of mouth will be greatly appreciated. Nugget, I liked your idea of the disadvantaged kids hitching a ride with you guys a year or so ago...Maybe I'll pick up some of the creche kids myself this year. My son has a ball at this farm school creche, better known as an Early Learning Centre. It caters for all races, all walks of life and embraces nature and conservation. If you cannot make it, please contribute so these kids could continue their special kind of education. Currently their transport is an issue,as their bus might have to be discontinued. We are doing this whole day for these kids, so please come and enjoy it with us. Some lucky draw prizes will be drawn, to keep things in the spirit of giving. Believe me, Toyota Hermanus was quite generous. Others are still welcome to jump on the bandwagon in sponsoring or advertizing at the event. Looks like we're on track. As police member, we'll be reaching out to the public in this way too, by handing out flyers and Bibles to those in need. Good cause guys, thanks for your time!!

Thanks OOOOMS!
Hey I'm bursting with excitement. You know, the 4x4 community can have a jol on TARMAC, just because of the kind of people they are, but mud, sand and the 2 African ladies: Fauna and Flora, just makes it soooo much better! Trying my utmost as an amateur to cater for everybody! So far so good...Have I mentioned the inclusion of a local wine farm and rumours of cheeseplatters/baskets? We are affraid of going full throttle, because of 2 things: 1. We have a figure that has confirmed that they are coming, but the pre bookings are lagging a bit...if I "over advertize", we might end up with 200 vehicles, which will be a logistical nightmare at this stage.
2. I need to keep some of my tricks in hand for next years event!
have a super day

Commendation is in order!

Thanks to guys like Tertius Binnedell, the spirit of 4x4 will be unbreakable till the end of time! :yahoo:

Tertius informed me that he would not be able to attend the FlowerPower day, but went ahead and contributed to this vital Fundraiser anyway. We all have fuel and break away budgets, but gestures like this are rare! Thanks Hiluxers for your positive attitude and your great response! 20 Farm school kids can look forward to having transport to and from school for a while longer! It is difficult for me as a proud Isuzutractor owner, to admit that your spirit is as inspiring as your vehicles! I hope you all enjoy FlowerPower on the 15th and that you all will walk away with Lucky Draw prizes! Open slots are getting few, so jump in if you can make it! Dankie Tertius!

Net jammer ek moes my dag daar so bietjie kort knip, ek het so ligte noodgeval gehad hier op die plaas.
