have looked at Citizen C1, Renault Sandero and Twingo, Toyota Yaris, VW Vivo, Fiat Panda, 500 and the new punto, Kia Rio and Picanto, Chevy Sonic and Spark, Hyundai Tos and i10,Ford Figo and Fiesta and Mazda 2, GWM Florid, Chery J1, think its about it

Friend of mine's brother got himself the Aygo on the current Toyota special. He loves it to bits. Intention was to use it for commuting, but it replaced his Mazda 2,5d 4x4 as well as his wifes Jimny.

He got the two door version.

AND he tips the scale at 100kgs so is not a small guy;)

Hope this helps

Henk

Have had it for a rental, and drove it from East London to George.
I thought it was going to be a nightmare, but it did the job without drama.

Still asking, you buy buy anything you like as long as it says Toyota on the back. The others you mention might look like but resale value are bad.

Go for it!
My choice would be a new Yaris, Aygo or second hand Corolla with low kilos

okay so al die "ja broers" het nou al ge-antwoord ...... (stir icon asb)

I use an Atos as a daily runner. I would at least compare the specs of the i10 and the Aygo, then drive both, then compare the prices ....

Hyundai is not to be scoffed at. and (sadly) I have had much better after sales service from Hyundai than from Toyota ... and my bakkie cost more than 3 times what the Atos cost ....

dont get me wrong, I LOVE my Hilux. but with Toyota taking their customers for granted, and their over pricing .......

sorry guys, but he did ask our honest feedback. Where do I line up for the firing squad ?

And you are also on the East Rand Fernando.

PS, a friend is an Area Manager for PSA (Frenchies) he advised me against ever buying a product from Peugeot or Citroen.

thanx to every one for their replies

reason why the Aygo is to of the list, its 105k full house including a service plan
and its the lightest on fuel, as fuel is not going to get any cheaper

besides the wife's Materia, this has the most space inside of will the small cars that we have looked at

features:
4 airbags
central locking
electric windows
power steering
aircon
radio/cd
abs ebd
steering adjust, shocking how many cars costing more don't have this
60 000 service plan
mags

on some of vehicles every thing is extra

will decide by tomorrow, this is all we discuss at home

thanx :dance1:

In 2008 I bought a new Honda Jazz 1.4.

217 000 km later and I am still as impressed as the first day!!!

JD Powers convinced me at the time! Interior space is better than any other in its class!

I had the same situation a while back and bought the Daihatsu Sirion which is the same as the Yaris. At that point the Daihatsu was quit a bit cheaper than the Yaris, but I see recently their prices have gone up quite a bit  Good for re-sale

Mark, yep we were also looking towards the second half of the year, however this seems like a good deal, and with the update due in EU this year, me don't see this deal being around much longer, so took the plunge

George, yep also had a look at the Daihatsu, and yes they are no longer so cheap, and also had a look at the new Yaris, and those prices have also jumped up
and as the idea was a runabout . . . .

should have my one Wend morning, getting a silver one, and after a little effort getting it at 8.5% interest rate

will post when I get it

Just never try to trade in a Daihatsu. Then all the reliability, and the Toyota connection means NOTHING.

against the Kia was space inside, service plan was extra and price

for once the Toyota came in cheapest and best value for money

yep the two door, that was the one on special, think the 5 door was still normal price

its just a run around for me, so the 3 door works great for me

if we go somewhere as a family then we still have the wife's Materia, the Jeep and the Ford D/C

OK, so curiosity killed the cat.... :!:

This afternoon I took grans Aygo 1000cc 4dr for a spin :wink2:

Wow....I must admit this little one goes well!!! Even the sound from the exhaust surprised me (sorta grunt like a Boxter ) Funny as it may sound, I was really impressed.

Some of the dislikes - rear styling and then the radio was not to impressive, but ja for that money, suppose you can't expect 'rockford' sound system after all.

I have now been looking around more and more at little cars and must say the style and lines of the small Ford Fiesta, looks really good, but suppose it's in another price bracket

on the radio, the fresh model, and that is the one that I test drove does not come with a radio, and so the dealer had a radio fitted, only the Wild comes with a radio, yes its not the same as the sound system in my Jeep GC, however am impressed with the original radio, then need to add that I listen mainly to 702 and the news, have not even listened a CD yet!! :laugh2:

maybe soon there will be enough Aygos on here to ask for another new subsection!!! :tease:

every friday I either drive the Bakkie or the Jeep to work, weekends also to work, and am at work right now
so far only driving the Aygo, great to drive and squeez between traffic :laugh2:

1st mod, soon
