New from Costa Rica!
Hello everyone! My name is Ricardo and Im from Costa Rica, central america.
I had a Nissan Xterra totally loaded, one day a guy offered to buy it and as part of payment he gave me a 2000 Hilux 4dr 2RZ engine.
At the first I thought I was going to sell the Hilux, but after using it I totally love it!!
Its Incredible how great MPGs it does, good power, etc.
Right now its very stock, just 31" MT tires and a TJM Awning and a CB midland radio.
I own a small 4x4Shop (http://facebook.com/4x4Accesorios" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) here in my country, so I hope I can add some more stuff soon.
This is my daily driver and also for going camping and "soft" offroading so the idea of this car is keep it clean and usefull. Im getting a snorkel in a couple of weeks, also I want to have small lift, also a RTT mounted on some homemade racks on the bed, still not sure if Ill put an offrad bumper and winch.
I dont want anything like big and extreamlly offroad since I also have a Jeep Cherokee that Im in the built process currently and thats going to be for that.
Anyway, enough said, just hope to get some cool ideas from here, get some doubts cleared and get to make some new friends!
Ill post some pics later on!
Thanks!

Welcome Ricardo!!
Looking forward to those questions and of course to the pics as well!
When you say that your 22R is giving you good fuel economy, what figures are we talking about? Is that a 22RE (fuel injection) or carb model? ![Thinking ](./images/smilies/icon_think.gif)

Well the engine its a 2RZ its a 2435cc Fuel Injection. I did some research and its suposed to have 140HP. Havent take it to a Dyno yet to see how much its actually giving me.
Its about 22-25MPG (My Xterra did about 16MPG) thats why I think its great!

Re: New from Costa Rica!
Sorry, I didn't read the original post properly ..... dyslexia setting in!
As far as I know we didn't get the 2RZ motor over here .... perhaps one of the other guys can confirm, but at a rough calculation, that's about 13½ km/Lit .... that's awfully good, even if it's calculated on the odometer (inaccurate) and not GPS. Those are consumption figures we can only dream of! Is this a supercharged motor?
Looking forward to those pics, and include one or two of the motor.![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Re: New from Costa Rica!
Welcome,
I calculated the 22 to 25mpg as to be about 7.75km/l to 8.8km/lit if I am right, which compares to the 7.5km/lit I am getting when travelling at 100km/h on speedo cruise with only two people.

You're right. Used a calculator this time instead of a quick mental calculation.Ou Poot wrote:Welcome,
