Gearbox question

Hi Forumites

I have a bearing going / gone in my gearbox :( :( and in my search for a new / second hand / repair of my gearbox somebody this weekend mentioned that I need to look for a B6 or B16 gearbox as it is stronger than the standard gearbox.

Does anyone know about this, and if so, share some info on these gearboxes.
