Het my 2 nuwe lisensies ook gister gekry, na slegs 7 maande vandat ek dit ingedien het. So dit lyk of dinge darem nou daar bietjie gebeur.

Wayne, ek stel voor jy teken steeds appel aan, my broer was in dieselfde bootjie en ek het sy appel vir hom gedoen. Hy het vandag sy lisensie ook gekry.

Wayne, that process is standard. You basically have 90 days from when you receive the refusal. Contact Martin Hood at MJ Hood and associates for your appeal. He has a nearly 100% success rate on applications and appeals.

The licenses that received yesterday was handed in over a 6 year period. :eh: One hunting rifle was applied for 2 months after the new processes started and the other rifle was handed in July of last year.

However, I still am impressed by the staff of Dawnpark Copshop, the last thing I ever expected was a delivery of licenses, and even less likely after 5pm in the afternoon. Thanks guys.

....... ;-) it does not make up for all the waiting yet

I received a call last night at 21h30 advising me to come and collect my licence and competency certificate from the police station otherwise they will send it back to ????

Apparently it's been laying with them since 2008. Luckily someone told me it is ready for collection - 3 years later ....

A bit OT, but how difficult is it to get a licence for a handgun these days? I got my licences for my 3 hunting rifles (yook them only 3 years...). I have never owned a handgun, but now want to buy myself a Glock 26 (also only want to shoot blikkies... ). What is advisable here?

From what I gathered it is more difficult to get a licence for a hand gun than for a rifle ... apparently due to armed robberies being committed with hand guns, etc.

Jip and it's easier to conceal a handgun and take it to a nightclub for instance

I know of people who have had lisences (new) approved within 3-5 months on handguns as well.

Johann, go to someone like Martin Hood for your motivation if you want more certainty on an approval.

hence why its a hilux shooting day :tease: :tease:

back on topic

got my licenses, and asked where is my competency certificate or card or what ever its suppose to be

that has or will be posted to me. and me asked about the safe inspection, they said that on the form I said I have a safe, so if something goes wrong then the problems start. tell me its not meant to frustrate

and then heard something else, when this whole stink started they had targets of how many to decline every day, yep target the law abiding citizens.

so who is going to organize the hilux shoot? ? :tease:
