Hi all!
Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong. Is it possible to move the rear diff lock to the front diff in a 3.0 d4d 4x4 and install a LSD in the rear diff? The reason I'm thinking it might work is a diff lock doesn't help unless it is in 4L and the lock is engaged. If you have a LSD in the rear it will give you more traction in case of wheel spin for example on hard slippery surfaces like town driving. And also in off road conditions. When driving off road you can engage the front diff lock and the LSD will do it's part. Will it work? And is it worth it?

Good idea in theory, but your front and rear diffs are different sizes, the front one is much smaller and the front CV joints breaks if a front locker is fitted

Hi Jaques

Thanks Allan, When you say the front cv joints will brake when using a front locker, what mod should be done to make the cv,s handle the strain? the reason I ask is, I know and heard of a lot of people some on the forum who installed a front locker and as far as I know they didn't make any changes to the cv,s?

Re: Move rear diff lock to the front diff?
For the Vigo shape I would do a LSD up front because of the cv joints. there are heavier duty cv's available from the land of OZ but $$$! There is no give in a locked diff and cv's WILL break on impact. The SFA is not so much of a problem as they dont have cv joints......

I was also going to the only mod that would make the CV's last would be a SAS. Then a locker would be lekker!
