The trail is mostly on gravel, corrigated roads, 20% level 2 and 10% level 3. The road to Kamgab is almost one of my new favorite routes. You have to take your own shovel, water, firewood and diesel, there is nothing available, except for Klien Pella, which is an impressive place. I would recommed this route to anyone who wants to get away from it all and see millons of stars every night.

Guys,
Thanks for the compliments about the pictures...good tools help.
To answer to questions.
I was so busy driving on the difficult parts that we did not bother with pictures but the level 3 sections were short and thats what made them less difficult. The most difficult section on the last day was interestingly driven by Mommy under a high level of supervision...she done well. A number of thick sand patches and some big rocks to get over in the river beds.
The road to Kamgab through the dry river bed is just great as is the Riemvasmaak area.
R150 at the Namakwa Tourism board and away you go. I recommed it.

Tks for posting - did the Namakwa trip about 16 years ago - glad to see its more or less still the same. Happy to see the "groot Melkboom" still stands. I look froward to go & hug it again.

Deane, No to Sendlingsdrift. You get hold of the Namakwa tourist people in Pofadder, and pay them. (R150 ...it took us 4 days) The route starts just ouside Pofadder near a small town called Pella. Nice trip I'll do it again....First you have to go to Riemvasmaak, that is also very lekker.

hi,
