As far as I know one can only use the light blue can's to hold water.

the blue one is for water, you'll see the lid is different too, i normaly poor half a teespoon of "jik" into the water when i go on long trips, it helps take out that metal taste, and keeps the water fresher for longer

I have been using mine for about six years now and would not use anything else. It is coated with what looks like epoxy on the inside and have survived where plastic cans could not.

You are referring to the blue ones nê?

The ones for fuel (green, red and yellow) does not have this epoxy on the inside.
