ARB TYPE BUMPER DESIGN

Post by dustbuster »

Hi Guys

I am looking at designing and getting an ARB type bumper made for my Hilux as the price of a new one is out of my budget. :alvarin: :alvarin: :alvarin:
I am good with 3D cad so am thinking of drawing it up the making it out of Wood/cardboard to make sure it fits onto the Hilux.

I don’t have bumper around me here to copy so will need your guys help with photos and advice, My idea is to make the bumper out of 2.5mm or 3mm plate I will then then flat pattern the 3D model and then get the sheet laser cut. Will then send it to an engineering shop and get the plates bent and welded together.

What I don’t know how do to is mount the winch to the bumper need some pics on that to see how they do it. Will post some pics of my model when I have started once finished I will post the drawings and cad files for anyone else who would like to get one made.

cheers

Dean as jy in die build-it-self afdeeling gaan rond blaai sal jy 'n hele paar ouens kry wat soortgelyk ge doen het.

Ek het viewtopic.php?f=41&t=14044" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

:dash: :dash: :dash: Sorry I'm a boer, so here go's my boerre enels--

If you have a look at the built-it-self section you will find that there are some oaks that did build there own
I did, and you wil see that I can take out the bottem pyp to install a vootbracket for the winch and that wil be direct on the main brackeds of the bumper.

Hpe this help

Did a bit of drawing last night just need to start taking some measurements and getting it to scale need to get a winch as well so i can see how to mount it to the bumper.

Need to get my hilux to the panel beaters first for the rust to be taken out and a respray.

Hi dustbuster

I am not sure what Hilux you are driving but I have a KZTE fitted with a ONCA custom made bumper. I am thinking of replacing mine with something similar to what Bushwacker have on his Hilux.
If you interested you can buy mine for a reasonable price .
