The Meadows 4x4 Trail - Eastern Cape - The Sequel

Post by Rebel 4x4 »

On Saturday the 4th of December, 10 of us took on The Meadows 4x4 trail. This was my second outing to this trail. This trail reminds me of a book, but specifically a biography of your 4x4. After completing this trip for the second time (new section was also added) I found the reason for the discovered route. It’s designed to teach you about your vehicle, to understand your vehicle’s behaviour in any circumstances.

An extra couple of kilometres were added to the trail opposite to the farmhouse. It was quite technical, manouvering your vehichle around trees with rocks and holes everywhere.

The whole trail felt like an 4x4 exam (in a good way), you get to know your vehicles length, where to turn, when to turn and also how much throtlle to apply on each terain.

The trail was extremely well orginised, there were no branches or fencing or any kind of obstruction in the way that could damage vehicles unnessesary. After the 4½ hour trail, braaipacks were ready at the "finish" line where everyone relaxed with a couple of beers.

Another trip will be held somewhere in February - camping facilities are also available with running water and flushable toilets for SWAMBO

In PE we are quite restricted to places to go. Other than the Baviaans, peoples farms are getting popular. This place is really worth visiting.
