Post by anthonyhugo »

hi guys, pulling my hair out

we're trying to mount a windcheetah on my 2003 kzte with trouble because we didn't get any instructions with it

how far should the distance between the front windscreen beading and the track be?

also the spacers i got doesn't fit that well in the channels, did you also file them flat on 2 sides to make them fit properly?

many many thanks in advance!!!
cheers

Just checked mine on my D4D about 15 - 20cm. Hope it helps

The spacers are a tight fit usually. But if you have to file em off a mm or so, suppose it is ok

On your roof you have plasic strips, can you not mount it from front to back? Where the strips are?

Did you buy your roofrack new? Reason why I ask is that I bought mine second hand and also found that the "grips" that slide in the tracks were to wide and had to be filed down. I was told the reason for that is that there was a larger older track that used the wider "grips".

How are you fitting the rails to the roof? Are you using clinch nuts, or are you removing the ceiling and putting bolts and nuts through the roof (better option)?

I took some photos of my Frontrunner on my 01 double cab.

Hope the measurements help! If not shout and I can take some more photos.

many thanks you guys for helping esp polarbear2008 with the pics!

well we finally got the roof rack up on my kz and wow she looks cool now :)

it was quite a big job as we had to file the spacers to fit and i ended up siliconing everything so my roof won't get water

ps. polarbear how is the table slide? i'm seriously thinking of getting it as well

NOW i need to decide where to put all the accessories, i got the hi lift bracket (i have the very long farm jack from adendorfs), spade bracket and axe bracket, thinking of getting the double jerry cans as well? BUT will this not be too heavy for my kzte's roof???

any of you perhaps have a photo of how you arranged yours?

thanks again hilux4x4!!!

cheers

The table slide was on the rack when I bought it. It works well except when the canopy is on, it is a bit of a pain to get out. I am looking at moving it so that it slides out sideways rather. The only other issue is to make sure there is foam rubber on the underside of the table to stop it from making a noise, should it move while the vehicle is moving.

Glad you got the rack sorted!
