Border 4x4 challenge
The Border 4x4 challenge will take place on Saturday 16th October at Wansley quarry, the quarry is in East London and very easy to find. There will be a camping area for those that wish to stay over Friday and Saturday night, there is also a braai area in the forest that we will make use of. No need to make bookings for the camping as it is a very large lawn area. There will be a R10 camping Fee per person per night.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

You'd be more than welcome, Mark .... just bear in mind, no showers / ablution blocks and you bring all your own stuff you need and take away all you brought. That's why the fees are so "hectic" !!

Them fellas in the Eastern Cape think they are on the frontier with the rest of Africa. Re: Border 4x4 challenge
Dates back to the old 'British Kaffreria' days ..... the Kei was the border, a natural barrier, .... just became known as the border area.
Heinrich ... where have you been hunting around here?? ... on farms that have been 'shot out' and only younger stock remain?
You need to know where to go ..... I have some 32" to 37" horns from around here (lesser kudu) .... last one I shot dressed out at about 108kg IIRC, but I've had much bigger than that.

Sien, ek was heeltemal reg gewees. Mens kan die lesser kudu ook daar in die Oos-Kaap (aka Iestern Cape) jag, ek het dit nog altyd vermoed.Mud Dog wrote:Heinrich ... where have you been hunting around here?? ... on farms that have been 'shot out' and only younger stock remain?

Andy, I've hunted a couple of times down in the Humansdorp area, and then plenty in the Graaf Reinett area. Here comes the irony, I've shot 3 Rowland Ward Blesbuck down near Humansdorp.
