4x4 Training - Western Cape - 27/28/29 August 2010

It is time ladies and gentlemen

African Offroad Academy (Western Cape) is presenting an Accredited Off-Road Vehicle Operator Certificate (OVOC) course from 27/08/2010 to 29/08/2010 at Klein Helderberg near Stellenbosch/Somerset-West. This course is based on Unit Standard 125135 - Apply the techniques for operating four wheel drive (4WD) vehicles, in on-road and off-road conditions.

Your Training team consists of:
-Thys de Jager (Instructor),
-Riaan van der Berg (Instructor),
-Dirk Theron (Instructor),
-Paul Minnaar (Instructor),
-Anton Ferreira (Assessor).

This training session is not a "Weekend-away" but will be run from Friday evening (Theory Session) and Saturday (Practical Assignments) to Sunday (Formal Assessment and written exams). Students can turn this into a "Weekend Away" format, with camping facilities that can be arranged at extra cost.

The cost for the training course is R1250. This includes the following:
-Training Manuals
-Offroad Logbook
-Accredited training.
-Accredited assessment
-Letter of attendance
-Moderation
-Competency Certificate from the TETA (this gets mailed to you)
-Cloth Badge
-4x4 Driver's License Card

We have about 9 students to date, I would say we can comfortably accommodate 10 but 12 is the limit.

This training course is fully booked, but don't despair, the next training session will be in September, and will be advertised here as well. All is done, comfirmation and payment. Now to ask a noob question so all the old hands can have a nice vroumens kekkle. What sort of recovery gear will I need to bring along? I am not planning on getting stuck, but i would rather be prepared.
So who are all the trainees? are they all from the hilux club?

Andrew, we are going to show you how not to get stuck. BUT in the unlikely event of you getting stuck, we'll have some funky recovery kits avalaible that we'll demo during the course.

Our attendants from the Hilux4x4 Club consists of:

The other guys are from outside the Hilux4x4 forum, but we'll convert them to loyal Hilux4x4'ers...

Thanks guys, I received all your payments and we ordered your training manuals from Tinus. I expect to be delivering them to your by Saturday. There is some self study to be done before the course starts, and one or two fun exercises that would keep you busy for an hour or so.
