Hi All
New to the Hilux vehicle as well as, I have never done anything like this online forum before, so apologies if I don't get things right first time. Bought 2009 Hilux
3.0 4D-D, 2nd hand. Original idea was to replace old double cab with 2x4 as we only really used it to tow the caravan. But the deal come up and could not resist getting a 4x4. Have not done much to the vehicle yet, but it does have a duel battery system as well as extra tank.
Attached are pics of our first trip on a 4x4 path.

Welcome Stefan. And I guess your very first mod should be rock sliders, before you modify the truck. Mark has a nice set on his van, I am sure he won't mind posting a pic of these.

Re: New Member
The pics where taken at Marakele National Park. There is one route within the park that is marked on the map as "strictly" 4x4 :D , with not much prior experience, decided to give it a go. Approached the track with common sense and we got through it without a hitch. On one section I burned the clutch abit, but that was driver error, reckon I should have used low range instead of high, but so we learn.

Welcome to the forum... nice Lux.
Low range is there for a reason, use it... I only use high range 4x4 when driving on sand tracks and gravel roads... the rest of the time when climbing or descending, I always use low range..
