Shaakri ek sal se Trekos is seker so tussen 25 tot 30 Km van Saldanha af.
Dit is net so 8km buite Vredenburg

We had a monster storm here last night with wind speeds up to 70kts, trees down all over the place, one 50ft concrete yacht broke loose, and went through the fleet smashing about six other boats. Thank goodness I sold my yacht and bought a Hilux.

Its nice to join you guys on the forum, ive been reading as a guest for a while, and am glad to finally be here.
Yes its very inviting to want to throw a line,i havent done so at Trekos for some years now.I was pleasantly surprised to see one can still drive the sand tracks and get to do some nice 4x4ing so close to home.
Earth Wanderer and i did some nice tracks around Spreeuwalle between Mykonos and Saldahna before going up to Trekos.
I hope you guys have some good weather and get some nice big red ones for the pot.

Where did you enter to drive these tracks? From die "Dam" side or from Mykonos open "gatesâ€. This assuming that their is not special permission required.

, I'm out of action for a few days :roll: Keep an eye out

The bush trail that leads away from the dunes is so tick infested at this time of the year and the bugger must have fallen into our car :!:

RE: Sun Chaser and Spreeuwalle, Here are some more pics to tantalize those fishermen's dreams. We're going to arrange to spend the night and fish there soon...Hopefully the guys don't close off the last of the roads into it :!:

Just come back from Trekos, everything is fine. the water looked clean. I didn't drive the hairier bits as I was alone, but the approach roads wern't even damp. The turn off to Trekos is 4.3km from the Kerk in Vredenburg, but you can't miss it it is signposted.

Thanx for the welcome, im sure we will be at some of the gtgâ€™s in the near future.
We entered the roads to Spreeuwalle from a short gravel road that goes down to a carpark just passed the mall at Mykonos on the way to the railway line to the jetty.just before the end of the gravel road turn right along a fire break.
Ive been having major internet connection problems here at work,so hence the delay in reply.

The gravel road is only a few hundred metres from the Mykonos entrance.There is a caravan standing at the entrance and its open public access.the guys go down there and walk over the dunes to the beach from the carpark. I didnâ€™t see any signs at all saying no entry or private property.
Turn right just before the end of the gravel road and follow the track, the first part quite rocky, then sand nearing the dunes. The track meets a wire fence on the right , run along the fence till it swings 90deg to the right on a hill. You can choose either to go right with the fence , or straight over the hill, both eventually take you to the same point. They lead to a gravel road that runs into the steel fence you can see from the tar road.The gravel road follows the fence to the left over a few hills towards, where it suddenly just ends.From there it isnâ€™t far to the beach and the dam wall.
Just remember that on your return drive, to backtrack to the end of the fence, otherwise you might find yourself in the inside of the fenced area, and the road doesnâ€™t go all the way to the end of the fence, just runs dead into the bush.
Enjoy the drive and hope you get some fish.
Watch out for ticks, there are a lot around.

Aangesien ek my datums verkeerd gehad het, moes ek maar alleen Trekoskraal toe gaan. Ons was die afgelope naweek by Swartriet, toe het ek en die "vrou" en kids omgery TOK toe.

Die see was maar deurmekaar, maar ek gaan beslis saam as julle weer gaan.

Ek ken nie die plek baie goed nie. Ek sal maar saam met julle moet gaan dan kan jy my wys waars hospitaal klip.
Ek duik meestal by Rooiels en Bettiesbaai kreef, maar is tans bietjie te dik vir my duikpak. As die water net bietjie warmer as normaal is, sal ek duik sonder 'n duikpak. Ek het van my grootste krewe by Lambertsbaai uitgehaal. Toe het ek reg lang Muisbosskerm geduik.

Die ouens wat by Trekoskraal kamp. Moet jy spesiale toestemming he of kan jy net kamp waar jy wil?

Hospitaal klip is op die Gonnamanskraal starndjie en jy kan net daar kom met laagwater (as die see nie te rof is nie). Die manne met die vaal jassies en skerp tande patroleer die kante (wel toe ek nog daar geduik het). Daar is n groot poel waar die rooies dik sit en hulle kan nie rerig uit tensy dit spring hoogwater is nie. Jy kan nie die poel sien van die strand af nie jy moet eers verby die rots gordyn kom.
