Tertius, hou hierdie thread dop, ons sal jou meer inligting gee soos ons dit kry. Jy hoef nie 'n permit uit te neem nie, jou toegangsgeld by die hek is al wat jy hoef te betaal. Inskrywing/Registrasie gebeur daar by die event.

I've been off the forum a bit but heard about the attempt. God willing, I'll be there for sure.

Ek is nog nuut in die Hilux Forum,gaan al die hilux manne by die duine bymekaar kom of buite duine,rede vir my vraag is ek het n vriend met n 4x2,sal hy dit kan bywoon of nie?

Welkom Charl. Ek is nou nie seker hoe dit daar lyk nie want ek gaan self vir die eerste keer soentoe. Ek dink vir die Saterdag sal jou vriend met sy 4x2 dit kan maak want almal gaan op dieselfde spore ry en ek glo hulle sal dit wil hou waar meeste Hiluxe (4x2's ook) kan by uitkom. Daar gaan in elk geval baie recovery voertuie wees.

If Allan and Bees can do it 2x4 style, then I'm sure your friend will make it... but no stress, there will be more than enough recovery vehicles should he get stuck!

nee ek hou lankal nie meer telling nie, ek het opgehou toe ons 35 marshals bymekaar gekry het.. Die ouens moet mekaar by die Hilux4x4 Club se dedicated parking lot op die sand kry en net begin gesels... the more the merrier...

EK GAAN SAAM! Ek mis die een nie maklik nie

Ek mag seker nie se nie - maar julle ouens weet dat daar n paar manne is wat al die Vrydag aand daar slaap !!!

Ek doen dit al vir die laaste 4 jaar en dit is great fun manne. Ons is van plan om die jaar groot te gaan - SWEMBAD inkluis.

Nee Hasie tot dusver weet ons nog nie wat dit ons gewone sterflinge gaan kos vir die dag nie, die ouens wat dit reel hou hulle kaarte styf teen hulle borste vas, MAAR ons weet ten minste dat jy nie nog 'n permit ook hoef te gaan uitneem nie...

Ek het gesien daar is 'n add in die SA4x4. As ek nou reg onthou vir die Sondag gaan dit R300 wees per voertuig en dit word gehost deur die 4x4 club van Suid Afrika

R300 - are they daft!!!! I trust for this price we're all getting t-shirts, stickers and free breakfast & lunch.

I'm just wondering if we have to join them on the Sunday or if we could do our own thing? Thys, Pieter, Niel?

Ok, so the record attempt event on Saturday is R200 per vehicle, this includes the normal R150 Atlantis permit fee... see the exert below(from Cassie's link)... note that you must register online as well!

"A R200 fee per registration is payable once you have received notification that your registration has been received."

Cassie, Sunday sounds like a organised fun day, i would think they would like all attending to stick to the format for the day and not ride off 'free-style'... the dunes can be very dangerous with groups doing there own thing... there have been a few very nasty accidents in the past, due to people tackling obstacles/dunes ascents without checking what is going on on-top/the other side...

Reading the rules section, something doesn't make sense... Saturday is the record attempt day, but point 6 of the rules states:

6. THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS IS LIMITED.

If this is for Sunday I understand, but if this applies to Sunday, then I not understand... it's a World Record attempt to get the most Hiluxes together, therefore why limit the numbers, sure logistics can be difficult... by why limit it... and what it the limit? Does Atlantis have a policy limiting the number of vehicles allowed in per day?

The short of the meeting is that we as Hilux Club Western Cape must try and organize at least 30 volunteers to help with the day at Atlantis when Toyota SA intends to set a world record for the most 4x4’s in one place at the same time.

I have taken the liberty to offer that we as the Hilux club will participate and offer our services free of charge for the day.

1. Assist in the guiding and recovering of the participants on route to the venue in the dunes.

2. Directing the traffic and giving the participants their dedicated parking slot on the area allocated for the event.

3. Help with general organization on the day.

4. Have at least 10 vehicles available for recovery etc on the day.



The aim is to have between 500 and 600 vehicle for the event, so means lots and lots of guidance and organization.

We would assist where we can and would in return get all our entry for free as well as share in the goodie bags and shirts for the day.

Our vehicles would also participate in the BIG photograph, but we can all park together so we can demonstrate the size of HILUX CLUB WESTERN CAPE!!!

We are then all invited to the following day to participate in the FUN DAY organized by the 4WDCSA.

The HILUX SA event takes place on the Saturday 30 October.

The FUN DAY is on Sunday the 31st of October.

Please let us support this event as to continue and build a great relationship with fellow club members alike to make this exciting hobby we have, the greatest ever.

Dankie vir die info, nou is ek nog meer deurmekaar, ek het reeds die entry form in gevul en trug gestuur, nou moet ek die betaling maak maar my naam is op as Marshal, hoe nou gemaak?

Help asb.

Kan die manne wat gaan Marshal wees daai dag asb meer inligting kry in verband met entry forms.

Ek neem aan dat die mense wat registreer se name op die amptelike rekord lys gaan wees. (as hulle opdaag)
Ons wat dan gehelp het se besonderhede moet ook darem seker daarop wees....

Of is ek te haastig :)

Hier moet ek my nou eers beroep op die manne wat weet. Die inligting is maar dun gesaai. Ek sal met hulle in verbinding tree en vir hulle al die moeilike vrae vra. Sover ek weet is die manne op hierdie lys (Die Marshals) vrygespreek van die registrasie-fooi, maar daar sal sekerlik een of ander tipe van registrasie vir julle ook moet wees. Hang aan daai tak, ek kom nou nou terug.

I fired off an email to the organisers and asked some of the questions you guys asked here. Last night I got a reply. Here is what it says:

Bly om van jou te hoor. Toevallig het Charl vandag met Anton gesels terwyl ek en hy by mekaar was.
Ons tyd was redelik vas gepen met die stadige draaiende wiel van Toyota. Ons is, soos jy weet grootliks in hulle hande; want hulle dra die beursie.
Gelukkig is die begroting gister goed gekeur en is dit regtig all systems GO.
Ons beoog om volgende Donderdag aand 7 Oktober 2010 om 19:00 weer 'n vergadering te hou: waarskynlik weer by my huis op Stellenbosch. By die geleentheid sal ons al die finale reelings kan tref en kan deur gee.
Jou 33 mense wat gaan help sal, soos ons almal, die registrasie vorms en vrywaring moet voltooi maar sal nie die R200 registrasie fooi hoef te betaal nie. Ons kan by die vergadering die logistiek daarvaan uitwerk - almal moet op die website aan teken. Ons sal met die webmeester moet reël dat hy die 33 registreer sonder dat hulle geld in betaal.

Ons sal soos aangedui vir elke werker 'n spesiale hemp en hoed beskikbaar stel.

Ons sal waarskynlik vanaf vroegoggend Saterdag ( voor 07:00) diens doen by Atlantis duine.

Die finale reelings tref ons volgende week.
Kan almal sommer aandui of die tyd en plek hulle pas

As you can see from the email, all the logistics will be finalised at a meeting on 7 October 2010 and after that we'll give you guys feedback. Until then, sit tight and keep that day open on your calendars.
