Confession of a junkie
Hi my name is Felix….and I am a Hilux offroad junkie….its been about 2 days since my last 4x4 accessory purchase (some 100W MAXE Driving lights for my new but naked KZTE)….after weeks of browsing the forums I now decided to join your support group, I am sure here I wont be judged and will get all the help and support I need to at least try and live a meaningful life…during those hours I am away from my next fix….
I just got my second Hilux (2004 KZTE DC 4x4), my first (2700i DC 4x4) was written off 3 weeks ago against a Taxi (due to no fault of my own). Fortunately thanks to full frontal bulbar, airbags and seatbelt im unscathed, although heartbroken to have her towed away for scrap and spare parts at auction.
Now I have start the process to fully equipment the new lady, starting with Intercooler D4D scoop and chip (I read all discussions elsewhere in detail, but if you guys have better info or long term comments they are welcome). The short term fitments are snorkel, long range tanks, recovery points, highlift jack points, second battery system and maybe spare wheel carrier at back.
Thanks for all the valuable discussion and tips I found on the site to date.

Hi Felix
Count yourself lucky.
There are those of us who get withdrawal symptoms when we cant get a regular fix like a trip into the bundus, a weekend trail or mud on our wheels......

Re: Confession of a junkie
Sorry Blommie, didnt want to spark the landy/cruiser/hilux debate at all
My medium term dream is to travel Africa with my dad from Cape to Cairo around 2011. Now Dad has a fully rigged Landy (what can I say, its family ?) with stuff that will surely make Kingsley feel under equipped. Fortunately he is retired now so he doesn’t have to drive the landy every day in traffic.
Since I have to use my double cab for the daily run to Sandton and back as well as obligatory kids taxi and the odd building load (yes I think a double cab 4x4 is close to the ideal MPV) it can not be looking like a Mega World/Camel Trophy display add.
I will consider to change my signature if more guys complain about the offensiveness

Hey Felix!
Welcome to the Hilux home. I am also new here but it's a great place. The people are very helpful and great - like their vehicles
Don't worry too much about the Landy guys. If you fit slicks on your vehicle, you stand a chance be in a Landy's class. Even then don't worry too much - the Landy will soon run out of engine oil.
Cheers!
