I plan to do a self-drive trip through the Wild Coast in December. Can anyone recommend info, routes and places to stay? Would like places that are private and secluded on the sea away from the hiloday crowds.
Thanks
Pierre

Pierre, there are plenty such places, but it's mainly camping and self catering. There have been a few threads on this topic in the past, do a search on 'wild coast' or 'Transkei'.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

Not many official camp sites in the Transkei. There's Dwesa Nature reserve which is apparently very nice (I've just race through it on a mtb though) and then there's a few closer to EL like Double Mouth and Morgans Bay.
There's lots of hotels though, Trenneries, Wavecrest, Cob Inn, Mazeppa, Coffee Bay etc.
Stay away from Port St John's though, apparently a lot of theft happening there at the moment.
