I might be able to get my hands on a Venter Bushbaby about 3 or 4 years old (might be wrong) havent even been on a desent 4x4 trip "i know the owner" only extra are a roof top tent, trailer and tent have been used as a back-up if the tented camp on thier farm were full.

Trailer where won in a competition

What will be a desent price and what are the things i should look out for? :?:

Venter Bushbaby is a good trailer, as they have been in the buisiness for a long time.

What type of tent does it have on?

The trailer last time I priced was approx R25k new, no tent.

The disadvantage is that it is pretty small in load space, and check what seize tyres it has on. They must pref be the same as your Lux.

Tyres are 215/75/15 six hole as the lux.
the tent sleeps 3 people it looks close to the one on the Savuti venter trailer,
dont know if that helps.

Hi George

Those trailers are about R27000 new and a rooftop tent can be anything from R8000 – R15 000, but second-hand the tents get quite cheap. Depending on the condition of the trailer you could look at anything between R27 000 and R35 000. I bought a new Jurgens XT 75 for R24 000 last year and got a 2 man rooftop tent in perfect condition for R 3500

Hope this helps

George

Venter Bushbaby is a very good trailer. I towed in for years in the bush and it never brake. Second hand it is about R 16 000,00.
At Tentco you can get a big tent between R 10 000,00 & R 12 000,00 new.

I am now towing a Eco 3 trailer for last 3 years and my Toyota dont even feel it behind it.
And the tire size and holes is the same as on my Hilux. I got the same mag on my Hilux as on my trailer.
I love it and you can get one second hand for between R 45 000,00 and R 50 000,00 with everything inside.

George you are right.

My Hilux is a 4.0l and dont feel it. Your best way is a Venter Bushbaby. It is light and a workhorse. Al the other trailers is heavier.
