“EMERGENCY RECOVERY”
With this “EMERGENCY RECOVERY” or call it road side assistance of Bloues this morning , I started thinking . What if he was stranded next to the road in a part of South Africa say in Mpumalanga between Middelburg and Nelspruit. Is there some kind of support system that he can call that can get him sorted out within a half an hour? Can we get some sort of “EMERGENCY SMS” system going ?
Say we have one person that can take a call from a mate in trouble , he has a tel list of volunteers numbers and he can get one or two okes to assist in helping a fellow hilux member in need ?
Just asking ?

Re: “EMERGENCY RECOVERY”
If every member just has at least one or two other members details you can get hold of them and ask them to post the message here.
Another idea is to have a list of members, locations and contact details on the forum, then if its urgent you or your mate can check the list, see who is closest and get hold of them.
Dont know if the list should be on club pages (more private) or on open forum?

Re: “EMERGENCY RECOVERY”
Thing is I know where to find spares and expert help and so and such in Middelburg. But if I get held up for what may be the reason in Pofadder or Nieuwoudvill it would be nice to get hold of someone that knows the area and best place to get what ever help I may need.
I like the idea to have a list of members, locations and contact details on the forum or If one member of a province can have a list of members in that province and all the members have the numbers of those you can call say Okkie in Mpumalanga if your stuck close tosay Stofberg and Okkie can get hold of Piet , Gert , Koos from Stofberg from the Mpumalanga list or at least give you the numbers of a volunteers closest to where you are that would be of grate value.

Re: “EMERGENCY RECOVERY”
Great Idea !
For example we can have one contact person per area/province, which in turn let the guys know which is closest.
I'll support.

Re: “EMERGENCY RECOVERY”
There is a "Members Only" page where we can list our contact details per region already. Benhur assured us that it is a secure page that can only be viewed by registered forum members. I listed my phone number there and I think if we all do so (at least those that WANT to) it is available for other members as well. As part of your listing you can indicate whether you are contactable in cases of emergeny etc etc.
Here is the members Only page : viewforum.php?f=58

Perhaps club members can volunteer their contact details in the club registry, and if you intend travelling in a certain area, look up and make a note of the numbers of members in that area in advance.

Re: “EMERGENCY RECOVERY”
Okkie my maat.
