Tyres for new shape hilux 16 inch
Hi guys
Any advice for tyres, especially sizes for the new shape hilux's
Currently have pretty useless 205 R16 C on steel rims. They new with bakkie so will have to wait for a while but was wondering what other guys are running on these bakkies?
Sizes especally, not keen to start a debate about what makes are best but mainly interested in sizes.
thanks

Luke, I had a 2.5 D4D, fitted with 245/75R16, and it was a bit lazy!
That's why I say go 235

Re: Tyres for new shape hilux 16 inch
Ok an update
Was given some good duelers in 265/70 16and took to hiq to fit.
They were really against it as they say the transfer box will take strain.
Fitted them anyway and will see how they go unless you guys advise that hi q were telling the truth?
Please advise should i take them off or leave them on?
Not worried about the acceleration etc but if it will do permanent damage then am worried.
Please advise?

Does the Hilux struggle with uphills now? If it struggles in 5th, dont let it "labour", rather change back to 4th. Dont think it would cause any damage, there are a lot of guys fitting bigger tyres.

Go for 15" rims with 31/10.5's, the std mag rims are availeble 2nd hand as they dont fit annything else.
