Ek weet dit is nog lank na November toe, maar ons het begin met die reelings vir die jaar se Walk of Faith en in plaas daarvan dat dit die Sondag oggend gaan wees, gaan ons dit die Saterdag middig/aand hou.

Jul sal onthou ek het verlede jaar manne gesoek om te help met pendel vir die wat nie kon loop nie. Wel ek het dit reggekry om te kan doen wat ek reg van die begin af wou doen.

Ek gaan 'n gesins 4x4 dag reel wat vroeër die dag begin en dan eindig die roete by die kruis om 17:00 waar ons dan deel van die verrigtinge gaan wees vir die res san die middag/aand.

Met die brandde wat ons nou hier gehad het het dit reg om die koppie waarop die kruis geplant is gebrand tot bo, maar het so 2m reg om die kruis opgehou met brand en die kruis self [droë bloekom] het nie gebrand nie en die wit klippies wat onder om die kruis lê is ook nie eers vuil van die swart roet en as wat so op ons gereen het nie. Dit al klaar is 'n getuienis. ek sal kyk of ek fotos hiervan kan kry om te wys.

Ons reel dieselfde vir die bergstappers, bergfietse en quadbikes en op pad uit stop almal daar.

Die Quadbike is egter beperk tot Nature Discovery Tours en daar moet van hul bikes gebruik gemaak word, ek is nog in onderhandeing met hulle en dalk kan ons reel dat, net vir die dag, mense hul eie bikes kan bring en onder hul toesig saam met hul ry. Normaalweg word quads en motorfietse nie in die berg toegelaat nie.

Daar sal van af 17:00 stalletjies wees waar kos by gekoop kan word.

Die wat wil oornag hier is nou 'n plek in di dorp waar gekamp kan word, het nog nie self gaan kyk hoe die kamp plek lyk nie, maar was al by die resturant (Porteguese resturant, lekker kos) sal gaan kyk en terugvoering gee.

Sorry ouens dit gaan oop wees vir alle ouens nie net Toy's nie. As jul belangstel laat my weet dat ek getalle kan deurgee en roete koste kan beding.

Is daar iemand wat dit vir my in die rooi taal kan oor doen asb.

Ek wil julle net weer herinner aan die 4x4 roete wat ek reel vir die dag en onthou dit gaan oop wees vir eenige 4x4 so nooi maar jou nissan of ford pel ook.

It’s still a while till November, but we’ve already started with the arrangements for the Walk of Faith 2009. There’s however a slight change, this year the event will take place on the Saturday afternoon / evening rather than the Sunday morning.

Last year I’ve requested help to assist with disabled and other who could not walk all the way -well I’ve managed to reach the goal which I hoped from the start of this initiative to achieve.

This will be a 4X4 Day for the Family which starts earlier the morning end ends at the cross at 17:00. We’ll join the activities with all the other partakers for the rest of the afternoon / evening.

We recently had quite severe mountain fires which reach the kopje where the cross is located. However the fire stopped about 2m from the cross. Not even the white pebbles around the cross are soiled from the sooth and ash which rained down on us and our homes. This is a witness in its own right that we are serving an awesome God. I’ll try and get some pictures taken.

We’ll organize to have the cross as the centre point where all the routes end: hikers, cyclists, bikers etc should all stop at this gathering.

The quad bikes are, however, limited to Nature Discovery and the ruling is that only their bikes be used. I’m still in discussion with them and trying to convince / get permission that only for this day that people can bring their own bikes to do route under supervision of Nature Discovery. Normally Quads, nor motorcycles are allowed in the mountain reserve.

The food stall will be open from 17:00 till late.

We’ve got a camping spot in town, which I’ll visit and give feedback at a later stage as the arrangements progress. We’ve also got a nice restaurant serving delicious Portuguese cuisine – I’ll also comment on their service / hospitality

Please bear in mind this event is open to everyone not only Toy’s. Anyone interested, please get in touch. I would like to have figures when I go bargaining with the authorities.

I remember the Forum's last visit to this Trail, it was a great success and we all had a lot of fun on that last loose klip climb which beat most of the field I think only three of us (Forum Hiluxes)made it up in the end and a Land Cruiser which had front and rear diff locks.

Really hope the Hilux Forum Manne will support this Great Event, you can count on the Be A Blessing Buddies I'm sure.

The cost for the route is R150 per 4x4 and the fees for Walk of Faith R30 p/p.

Vir die wat dit nie weet nie die ossewa spore van vroeër dae met die syn kanonne is nog steeds op die berg, en dit is een van die stoppe op die roete, so paar minute se stap van af die 4x4 track.

We wil stop and have a loock at the oxwagon trail and the signalcanons that are stil on the mountain.

I'm gona see Aubry of OTM in this week for final detail.
