leaf over shackle mod
Has anyone seen this done, despite the probs with needing longer shocks and maybe modifying the yoke on drive shaft and fiddling with the steering, has anyone done anything like this?

Re: leaf over shackle mod
It is called a "buggy spring"
worst mod ever
lotsa axle wrap (LOTS)
clunking sound all the time as spring tutches the chassis
tendency to crack the chassis where attached to the buggy spring (mettal fetique)
spring must be short enough to limit axlewrap, then it's to short to ariculate
been there done that not worth it
Better option is to use revolving shackles (they also have more disadvantages than advantages)

I saw at a a museum the other day that a 18something model "Bokwa" had a similar suspension set up I wondered if they also suffered from axle wrap

Sorry to burst your bubbles guys
the one pic in there is from my truck which i build and drove hard for years
also called a 3/4 elliptic system
when properly designed and coupled with a proper trackbar you have no and i mean no axle wrap , also had some teflon pads on the chassis for it to rest on so i had no clanking noises and i reinforced the chassis - hte truck was built in 2001 and is still running the system

Driko could you impart some pearls of wisdom :ugeek: about what you used as the top spring?do have any other pics perhaps of those arms and the pads?also how did you keep the spring from shifting?and how did you reinforce your chassis?
