SRX 4x4 Turbo

Post by Sandy Tracks »

Good Day
I am brand new to the forum and look forward to some assistance. I have a 2014 SRX 4x4 D/Cab with 555 000km with a full service history from Toyota. Ive noticed that my turbo is starting to leak a bit of oil and hope someone can guide me to a reputable workshop that can fix this before its too late. I could get Toyota to sort it out but am hoping to save a few Rands on repairing vs replacing. Im in Johannesburg if someone can refer me. Many Thanks.

In days gone by, this Independent Service Station was highly recommended by members here. The owner was Ralph, I do not know if this is still the case but might be worth your while to follow up on this.

You can contact Turbo Direct or Turboworks.

Whilst the turbo is out, just for a few bucks more, they can upgrade the turbo which will give you some performance gains.

Wow... 555 000km. Is that still the original turbo. If so then it had a good run.
Maybe worth checking the injectors while you at it? I know of the injector issues with the 3.0. I don't think i heard of issues with the 2.5

Good advice!

IF you can, also fit a Cirrus intercooler and a Unichip. Then you will have upwards of 100kw.

Thank you everyone for the amazing advise and will certainly look at all the options. Yes....555 000km and going strong, as well as the original Turbo yes.... - full 10 000km interval services at Toyota. I am a true Hilux believer now with this car.
