Hilux brake pedal hight.

Post by Martin Sherfield »

I am working on a Hilux d4d. I noticed the brake pedal hight is significantly lower than the clutch pedal.
Looking underneath the brackets all seem right and there seems no way to get the pedal to come higher.
Is this normal? I have not come across this in any other Toyota. The brakes feel spongy I have bleed them but makes no difference.
Any advise please.

Doesn't sound normal to me. Is it possible that you have not bled the brakes properly and that there is still air in the system. Alternatively, maybe you have a leak in the system which is introducing air.

Yes I have bleed them again no air comes out.
The brakes are quite good
I just can't figure why the pedal is much lower than the clutch pedal. Looking underneath there is no way to get it higher because of the brake switch
