Hi
My Hilux have quickly deterioted and now seems to be so hard to select 1st Gear and 2nd is a lot better but doesn't feel normal.
This is only when the engine is running. When the engine is off the gears can easily be selected and feels normal.
The clutch doesn't slip or pops out of gears when driving.
Car is a 1999 2.7L SR5

I guess the pressure plate is toast?

perhaps the synchro gear for 1st gear shot?

Sounds like syncro's are worn. Sometimes changing the gear oil viscosity helps.

My memory fails me at this point but there have been threads here in the past that address this issue. Just do a search. Hope you come right.
