Hilux Vigo Drawings
Hi, hope someone will be able to assist me.
I'm looking for drawings (.dwg/.dxf or anything similar) of the Vigo shape Hilux from which I want to design a roof rack.
I can only find images of the drawings when googling, on all of the sites you have to pay for the drawing (vector file).
Is there maybe someone on the forum who has bought these drawings and is willing to share them?
I'm specifically looking for the double cab as well as Xtracab drawings.
Thanks guys. I will post some pics after I've designed and fabricated the rack

Real engineers don't need drawings. They just build! as ive done many times.

Re: Hilux Vigo Drawings
Im looking to design and laser cut some parts of the, i dont want to give to much away at this stage, but its quite a unique design that follows the roof lines of a hilux much better than other market options . So if i dont get drawings i will start from a image and go to CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) after to optimize.
Hopefully i can get some computer designs done before the weekend

Re: Hilux Vigo Drawings
So no drawings?
I've been designing some with an blueprint image as a backdrop, but it seems these are not very accurate at all. Any suggestions as to improve the accuracy?
Does anybody know of a place that sells these Alu extrusions? Preferably in a smooth finish
http://www.ebay.com/itm/8020-T-Slot-Alu ... 0788805681
They seem a lot more structurally sound than some of these I can find in RSA .
https://moduasm.co.za/product/strut-pro ... 030060-06/
The first looks to have thicker webs and less open spaces. Also they seem to be better if I want to thread the center hole to accommodate a bolt of sorts. I'm not so much concerned with the load capacity as the rack would not be for heavy items.
Any input will be appreciated, thanks
EDIT: I'm looking for these profiles in 25x50mm

Re: Hilux Vigo Drawings
Thanks Quentin, I've sent them a mail so hopefully they get back to me with good news.
I found the correct design ones at RS components, but they are 20x40mm in size and only come in 2m lengths so there will be some wastage. Maybe I should go do some calculations to see if they will be strong enough, but they feel on the thin side to me.

Re: Hilux Vigo Drawings
Thank you Mylux
RS components 20x40mm --R500/m
Moduasm 30×60mm --R200/m (although a little bit less sturdy)
Waiting to hear from provey. The only problem I have with the moduasm ones are that the center hole is for a M12 bolt. Would it be possible to put in a reducer to M8 bolt, or will I just have to live with the M12?
Also, do you get button head allen bolts in M12 variations?

Re: Hilux Roofrack
So it took me a lot of time, but with the prospect of December coming up, we finally managed to put together the rack. It was done late last night, so no pics yet, apart from the raw alu profile that I went to pick up yesterday.
The plan is to get the thing spray painted (home job) just for December and in Jan to go for powder coating.
I will post pics of the finished product once I have the deflector plate sorted. (Anybody in Pta has some smooth 3mm aluminuim lying about?? Its not worth while getting a whole sheet at this stage)

Looking good !
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
