17" wheels with 33" tyres for 2008 Vigo
Hi all. Does anyone know if it is possible to put 17" wheels with 33" tyres on a 2008 Vigo. Noted that they came out with 15" tyres and the 31" tyres just don't scrape?

Re: 17
Stumps,
With enough time and money anything is possible.
I've read that to run 33x12.5R17 you will need to lift the body and suspension by around 125mm and the rims need to be 8J or 9J and have a negative offset of -5mm or more.
A hammer might also come in handy to push back the pinch weld on the back of the inner fender. Tires will stick stick out by 60mm or more, depending on the offset of the rims. Your biggest problem will be the width of the tire, this is why you will have to lift the Lux to get clearance.
There might be someone with more knowledge regarding this subject, but this was the info I got when I played around with the same idea. 33's on a manual will not be a big problem, but the auto will suffer.
255/85x16 (33.1x10R16) will be a better option. Rims with a +20mm offset and a 3" lift will work. You will need to remove the front mudflaps and trim a bit of body panels.

Re: 17

Why 17!? 285s will fit with either a 3 inch suspension lift or like myself a 2 inch suspension lift and a 2 inch body lift. I run zero offset steelies but you'll get away with p10. You'll want ya grinder and welder handy to do a body mount chop and there'll be some trimming and flogging of the flare, inner guard and body.

Not everybody’s cup of tea. But I love my 255/85-16(33x10.5)

Re: 17
Segal, are you running those tires with a standard setup or raised suspension?

17" wheels with 33" tyres for 2008 Vigo
I’ve raised the suspension Profender Shocks with my own setup on the coils. Sort of a mix between ironman coil design and profender a coil design. Roughly about 60mm of lift I think. Total clearance under bashplate with those tyres is around 340mm. Castor does have be be pushed forward tho to stop any scrubbing on the rear of the fender otherwise they work very well. Busy having rims modified with more offset to give it a beefier look not sure how that’s going to affect the clearance tho.pieta.swanepoel wrote:Segal, are you running those tires with a standard setup or raised suspension?
