Hi guys,
My '93 SFA front axle is leaking oil into the wheel hub causing the crease to weep out. How big a job is it to replace the hub seals and felt kit on the steering knuckles?
Can I do it myself or is there special tools involved?
Looking forward to your help.
Thanks,

If you're a mechanicaly minded DIY guy, you should be fine doing it yourself. You will need a cir-clip plier and a geyser element spanner (not expensive and useful if you need to replace your geyser element).
The most critical thing is to seat the inner seal without hurting it - also don't mix up the knuckle cone bearings and the shims. There are a couple of articles here on the forum and a number of U-tube videos that you can check out.

Don't buy the stock Toyota inner axle seal, it's not the best/longest lasting solution. Have a look at this thread for advice on a better seal: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=42836
Here is a thread on the process: http://www.hilux4x4.co.za/simon/overhau ... /index.php
And another: http://www.hilux4x4.co.za/front-axle-re ... /index.php
This guy has some useful videos on the process: https://www.youtube.com/user/WheeliePete/videos

Thanks for the replies and tips .
Will be sure to read the topics and watch the videos (thanks Nic).
Luckily I am a DIY guy and I used to fix and service all my older cars. Never a 4x4 though
When I get stuck, I'll be quick to jump on the forum and call for help
