Hey Guys.
First time posting here. Im the very happy new owner of Schwhmpy. Many of you may know him?
In the past I haven't much cared about what brand and grade of oil I use, but now that I have Schwhmpy, things are different. This boy needs only the best.
Any advice on the best brand and grade of Oil to use? For those who haven't committed Schwhmpy's stats to memory, its a 3.0 KZ-TE, with around 234 305kms.
Any advice much appreciated.

Re: Oil Advice
Hallo Grant -- I am NOT new here. Just absent for a longgggg time ..
On any Japanese diesel turbo engine I can only recommend CALTEX DELO 400 oil [not 'Gold"]
It keeps your sump cleanest of all .. It just is the best [if you drive long distances mostely, you can even put it in petrol engines.
O-ja .. en GREETS vir al die OU vrinne :-)

Re: Oil Advice
Great thanks a lot. Now that I see the name 'Delo' I've actually seen that on the past service papers. I wasn't aware of that grade name. So this pretty much settles it.
Thanks.

Re: Oil Advice
Agree with Delo 400 for the diesel.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Re: Oil Advice
What do you guys think of Liqui Moly oil? German product. Bit more expensive but supposed to be good. I know some of their products that I used (Injection Cleaner, LM40, Screw Grip, etc.) are excellent. Look at their web site, type in your vehicle detail and they will recommend the correct oil etc.

Re: Oil Advice
Delo Gold also complies with the Toyota Minimum Spec. I just prefer Delo 400 as it is an even higher spec.Rigger wrote:Why not Delo Gold?

Re: Oil Advice
Fed my old KZ delo 400 (the red top) for 100k km every 5000km. Doesn't break the bank and gets the job done. Feeding the d4d with the same now. I think they like it...
