History

Post by maurice C »

Hi, my name is Maurice Compton. We came to S.A. in 1975 from the U.K. I worked as a foundry patternmaker until I retired in 2011. I got into off roading in 1992 with a Nissan Sani this lasted until 1994 when I bought our fist Hilux, this one was written off in 2012. We bought a 1995 Raider in 2013 and this is our current vehicle. We have been members of the Four Wheel Drive Club of Southern Africa since 1992 and I have been threatening to join the Hilux Club for the last 4 or 5 years and now its finally happened thanks to some encouragement from Neil at 4x4 Direct at Boksburg. We have traveled to Namibia, Botswana, Caprivi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Mozambique and Malawi. I have always enjoyed the articles on web site and will hopefully be able to contribute some of my mods.
