Re: Lost a friend this evening
Condolences on your loss Eric, not an easy task by any means. Although it's more often the most humane route, it always seems so unfair that a lifetime of faithful companionship is 'rewarded' with such a vet trip.
Been there too many times as I'm sure you have too. I feel for you at this time and I know Rusty was close to your heart but on the upside, 14 years is a long time of good memories to be cherished.
Hang in there, old friend.

Condolences Eric
I know he had a good life as he had you as his friend.
One of toughest things I know is going to the vet and doing the right thing.....
It was time, and you did the right thing.
Bretton summed it up well: "loves you no matter what! A friend indeed."

Re: Lost a friend this evening
Thanks guys.
It's sad coming home in the evening and not having him lying outside on the grass waiting for me to come home. I miss that excited look and sparkle in his eyes as he used to jump up and run toward me, wagging his little stump of a tail. Having the other two dogs certainly makes it easier, but I still have that lump in my throat when I thinkl of little Rusty.
