We've been challenged!

Post by Mud Dog »

We've received this message from Christiaan of the LCC, (also a member here).

Groete
Christiaan van Vollenstee
This will be a Gauteng event if it takes place, but since Neil has just moved home and is in the process of setting up a new venture, I'm posting this to get the ball rolling and gauge the interest of the Gauteng guys ..... who's in!?.

Tertius, if there's enough guys from the Cape that are interested, I can approach the LCC committee and set something up there as well. Could turn out to become a National Challenge with a couple of regional events.

Hi all

As you can see I've been a member on the Hilux Forum for some time, and whilst I don't post much, I do enjoy a lot of the technical issues you good folk discuss.

I own a Hilux as well, as do so many Land Cruiser owners. You know we can't drive those tanks every day :cooldude:

The idea was that of Christiaan, and is aimed at improving our club relations. We after all do support the same Toyota badge. Without going into all the politics of AAWDC, it seems that there is little to no plan for the usual Club Fun Day - so we think the idea is great. We call it a challenge, but we spend the day having a lekker kuier, and perhaps we can make it an annual event. As Mud Dog suggests, if there is sufficient interest, we could chat and make provincial challenge events.

The 19th of September was mentioned as a date, but unfortunately this is the day that LCCSA Custodian group is having it's annual meeting in Cape Town. However if this suits the majority, then of course we can still go ahead. We'll chat to your Forum management, and we'll get the ball rolling.

No short wheel base nonsense..... :naah:

Best regards
Mark

Just as a matter of curiosity, are there any other regions that might be interested?

It doesn't have to be a vehicle basher event, perhaps something more family oriented and as Mark says, a kuier to improve inter club relations.

With regard to dates, your local EC's should be in contact with the LCC guys in their respective areas to make arrangements.

Neil, Johan, Tertius .... any progress?
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

No Progress what so ever, smaak my die Cruiser Club in die Kaap, weet seker klaar die uitkoms. LOL

Andy, I have sent a PM to the Cruiser guy but no correspondence YET, and I also spoke to my brother that is part of the cruisers in Cape Town. I think they are all to busy with the NSRI thing happening on the 10th October at the moment.

So we'll give them some breathing space for now. ?? will keep hunting them after that then.

Got this feed back from Johan (Werewolf) ......

Hi Andy

Here is some feed back from the meeting we had last night with the guys from Land Cruiser Club. All went well.

We have agreed on a date for the 2 clubs get together, which will be the 3rd of October (Saturday) at Henops 4x4 trail, where we are going to have a fun day type of GTG / Challenge. We agreed that this will be more like a drive & visit so we can get to know the guys from the other club & for them to get to know us. I think is going to be great as I spent 4 to 5 hours with them last night, and I must say it was really great & friendly.

Christaan will contact Henops & arrange for the day & camping for Saturday night (for those who want to camp).

I will some time later today inform Neil & Quentin and update the thread to let the guys know when & where.

They also said last night (because it went so well) that they will get hold of the guys down in the Cape and get them on board with what we are doing here in Gauteng.

All in all it turned out great.

Thanks for your efforts, Johan! Good to see that there is positive progress!

You have Henps pride closer to Centurion and Henops 4x4 closer to Harties, if it is Henops 4x4 your talking about we can arrange a deal with Hibert, my son does his airsoft events on Hiberts premises and I have contact with him. I spoke to him on Saterday and he seems quite willing to make special arrangements for groups visiting his venue. His e-mail: hibert@henops.co.za

Hi guys, Christiaan suggested I have a look here and organize something between the clubs for the Western Cape.

I am allready organizing a "Mystery Rally" for 13 & 14 November, theirs 3 cruisers and 3 hilux's enetered allready.
I have 12 spots open as of now. (this event is open to all Marques)

You can look at the details at: http://www.mackventure.co.za/mystery-ra ... 5-wc4x4dl/

This event has prizes, will be a ton of fun and is family orientated. Even the camp site we choose is 'child friendly' ;)
