The "Character" of a forum
I don't spend as much time on the forum as I used to..... time has become quite scarce lately.
But when I can I quickly pop in just to see what's going on. I do the same on several other forums (not all are 4x4 forums)
What is interesting is the "character" or "personality" of each forum. It's funny how they can differ so much!
Some forums I have stopped going to because of the sheer arrogance and bad language one finds there (often the mods being the guiltiest!)
Now I'm no saint but I believe that there is a place and a time for everything.
Other forums are characterised by bickering and the members can really stick it to each other on a good day
But not this one!
I just want to say thanks guys, it is you (and the mods) that keep this forum a pleasant one.
There is no bickering, on-line unpleasantness, unessessary negativity here! It like a breath of fresh air when I log on here.
I AM PROUD TO BE A MEMBER HERE!
Keep it up - and pour yourselves a Bells when you get home tonight!

Certainly a different vibe here, in the best possible way.
I remember a photographic forum where the owners had set ideas on silly issues, enforced it .... and the forum ran dead in a few months.
Certainly a very fine balance between maintaining the standard and still keeping it lively.
HATS OFF to the group steering this ship !!

I think it's a matter of like-minded individuals.
I feel a lot less wise at 45 than I did at 15.

I log on almost everyday just to check whats going on. Always enjoy the forum. The forum sometimes seems quiet but I think that's because those who post, post about relevant things and just not random stuff.
You get a feeling of respect between members by the way they reply
One suggestion is maybe include age in the avatar?

^^ We tried that once, but when Andy entered his age, the server on which the forum is hosted collapsed. We therefore had to remove that plug-in.
