Air intake route for Snorkel - 7MGE SFA
Can anyone with a 7M conversion on a SFA & a snorkel fitted assist me with a pic of their engine bay that can show me the route of the piping from the air intake --> filter-->to the snorkel please?
I have the original ECU so the airflow meter will have to be incorporated.
I'm considering removing the cone filter on Kaspaas and replace it with the original Donaldson filter.
Advice an ideas welcome!

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line.....................................

I am going swopping the the battery and filter on Bosbeer(Lexus). Then do a mod to fit the IFS 2.7 snorkel to the right side of the SFA. With this I get a very short distance to the engine. At least this is how I worked it out. Its work in progress, 1st to start that beast.

Louis,
Luckily Kaspaas has a duel battery setup in front already, should be easy to do a battery swap(right to left) as the starter on a 7M is on the left anyway. Then move the extra battery to the load bin with a "plug and play" adaptor and battery case.
The biggest challenge is the routing of the ait intake--> through the airflow meter--> through the filter -->to the snorkel and this all has to happen on the right hand side of the engine.
It's not just a straight line you know............
I don't want to reroute over the engine to the left again and subject the piping to unnecessary heat from the engine. (defeats the purpose of getting cool air in from the snorkel??)
Also, are there smaller options than the SFA Donaldson filter that works just as effective?
Keep us posted on Bossie, will need a sound snippet to justify the first roar!

Re: Air intake route for Snorkel - 7MGE SFA
There is a lot of sizes available.
I am interested in this one Donaldson FRG Style A (GO65541). Then also I heard a Isuzu 2.8 has a nice filter too.
Yes the longer and more bends on the intake pipe lessen power. The heat over the engine not that much except if you standing still or if the piping runs in a spot where there is no airflow that can cause heat build up.
I keep you posted.

Claude, what Cobus is trying to say is that he spent far too long in the Northern Cape and has forgotten how to read. Help him out with some pictures please.

I'd also like to fit a donaldson and snorkel om old Swartvark. Hoppy was kind enough to rotate my intake to the left, but I hear that a Lexus needs 2 snorkels to breath properly.....
Is it perhaps possible to rotate the 7M intake to the left?
My intake pic.
