Hi

I am currently using Telkom and no problems. I am on the 10gb Soft cap.Which is ok because once you reach your cap they only soft cap and you can still surf the net.You pay R86 for 10gb.
Problem is that streaming becomes slow once you reach the cap
So I am looking at different uncapped options.
A quick search shows me that for around R200 you can get uncapped from Mweb,Afrihost ect

What would you guys recommend?

I have Telkom uncaped 4mb line for R790 a month.

I see Telkom has a 10mb line on 50GB for R800 odd. Thinking on getting that.
Riaan uses Afrihost. Maybe you should ask him, he is my IT guy to go to as you know.

Ek self gebruik Afrihost vir die laaste paar jaar. Was eers op hulle uncapped pakket gewees, ma weens hulle n mens se spoed so sny waneer jy baie internet gebruik/download ens, dan kan jy glad en al vergeet van stream ens. So gebruik tans hulle capped weergawe.

Hang af van die spoed en antal gebruik, ek betaal R600 vir n 10/20 Mbit lyn met n 166 GB cap, wat ook n soft cap het, nognie rerig die cap al bereik nie.

Het die laaste ruk baie goeie pryse gesien wat die verskillende ISP's adverteer, so wat jy gaan kies sal sekerlik afhang van wat jy nodig het. Afrihost se diens is nie sleg nie.

2mb line uncapped at R200 pm ...... it's fast enough for streaming, so no probs ( downloads are fast enough and generrakky maintain the 2mb/s but I sometimes notice it surge considerably higher. ISP is SAINET.

I HAD an uncapped 2mb adsl line from Telkom. I had to cancel it because the line was down for a total of 5 weeks this year already (Telkom blames cable theft, but it's also incompetent technicians and a lack of communication) . Used to pay ~R580.
I'm now on a wireless unshaped, uncapped connection with a fixed public IP at R699.

The 2mbs line is fine for me. I would like to have about 30gb per month.

The wireless is not really an option here in Langebaan. SO far I have been happy with Telkom

I am with Afrihost, capped at 50mb (currently they have a special and have extended it to 100mb) but I never even use 50mb) at 4mb. Cost is around R500 or so and includes ADSL line rental. Can't go wrong with Afrihost.

Afrihost lets you save around 20% if you have both your line rental and capped account with them.

This is on the 2Mb line, with the least cap for a bundle, you would probably be able to take less cap without a bundle, but then less saving.

Just compare prices from others as well.

SO basically this R328 included the ADSL Line rental plus the 50+50GB cap.

Value for money I'd have to suggest Afrihost. We used them for our office ADSL for the last 3 years or so, but switched over to WebAfrica because to the network issues they had towards the end of last year. I believe the problems are resolved and their products are rock solid again.

I've just signed up for 20GB/month, and will be transferring the Telkom line to them and going uncapped shortly(2mbps). I also use Telkom LTE wireless which is flipping awesome... get speeds in excess of 40mbps at times... averages around 20mbps... the 10GB/m cap is a little small though!

Al hulle capped bundles is unshaped, hulle uncapped bundles het n fair usage policy waar as jy baie peer2peer traffic gebruik soos torrent downloads deur die dag of as jy in hulle high usage groep val dan begin hulle jou spoed sny. Maar nie op die capped bundles nie.

i've got this one at the moment.
I was on 8ta 3G for the last two years. generally it was OK... 5mbps was not out of reach... my dongle was only 7.2.... BUT the lag. normally browsing and streaming you would not feel it, but online game play

I'm now in my 2nd week of this ADSL contract. Just when i got it my TV went bust. How this for planned obsolescence. Bought TV on 8Mar 2013.. 2 yr warrentee... power supply board blew on 9 Mar 2015

Anyhow, this means have not been able to really test it with online gaming. But i can see my streaming is slower. Not excessively but definately slower then the 3G
