Diff, Gearbox, Transfercase breather Extensions
Howzit guys
Does the 2007 Vigo come with breather extensions on the front diff, gearbox and transfer case?
I know that the back needs to be done before i even attempt water crossings.
Any help and pics will be helpful

As far as I know, they do not, but that is easy to check.

Re: Diff, Gearbox, Transfercase breather Extensions
My 2007 Fortuner certainly did not. Diffs and transfer box are very easy. Unscrew the existing breather, screw in a swaged / hose nipple and connect the pipe. There are a number of threads on this forum.
Gearbox breather however, is another saga. The standard breather is pressed in to the top cover (the one with the gear lever) Remove center consol. Remove top cover and drill out the existing breather. Go to your local hydraulic supplier and buy a hose to hose bend (think I used 8mm) Cut off one end, and epoxy the bend into the gearbox cover. Re-fit top onto gearbox. Fit hose and lead up into the engine bay. Re assemble your center consol.

From 2010 onward they came with factory fitted breathers.... That is according to my source at Toyota, after I specifically asked them about it. Just make sure though...

If you are standing at the left fender and looking at the diesel filter, just to the right of the filter are 2 pipes that just stop. Are these the breathers for something? One is thicker than the other and it got some sort of cap on the end of the pipes. Once I have them sorted out il have piece off mind. Looking to do a sound upgrade soon so maybe il tackle the gearbox breather at the same time. Shot alot for replies guys

Sounds like those pipes could be high-level breathers. Just follow them to check where they lead to. The diff breathers will be easy to spot by just looking at the front diff and the rear banjo housing.

Re: Diff, Gearbox, Transfercase breather Extensions
Shiv, "banjo housing" refers to the full external housing of the solid 'beam' axle, like the one at the rear wheels.
Just for interest sake, why I say look at the whole housing is because sometimes the stock breather is not on the diff pumpkin itself, but off to the side where the half-shafts are housed. Although on top of the pumpkin is the highest point of the housing, there is a lot of oil being thrown about in there which may result in excessive weeping and perhaps easier fouling of the breather valve - so they fit it off to the side where that doesn't happen.
Hope that helps.
