I have always dreamed about owning a DC Land Cruiser bakkie. I think they are beautiful.
Anyway, this weekend drove in what I thought was the ultimate: LC DC V8...
Boy, was I happy to get back into my 4.0 V6. Way more comfortable, much smoother and much quicker.

You either hate it or love it, and have to understand it to love it.JamesC wrote:I have always dreamed about owning a DC Land Cruiser bakkie. I think they are beautiful.

Re: Hilux vx Land Cruiser
I've been through 5 SFA Hiluxes over the past 15 years and swore to never switch to any other vehicle, including the newer Hiluxes, I enjoyed them that much!
I now drive an 80 series Cruiser, and will be buried in it.......not because I have to..........BECAUSE I WANT TO!
As Wayne says, you have to understand it!

You cannot compaire the 80 series with 70 series. I think the 80 series is one of the best vehicles ever build. The 70 series is not the same and I agree my V6 is much more comfortable than the 70 series. I am not saying it is a better vehicle as I think the cruiser is tougher than the Hilux.

Re: Hilux vx Land Cruiser
I have the 80 series , the 79 bakkie and FJ V6, and will not choose between them. Done long distance travel with all three. The only think I prefer on long distance driving with the FJ is its overtaking power.
But agree for running around the hilux makes more sense, and so the FJ.
