Did this happen to a Member here? Submerged HiLux
I saw this on facebook, I think the HiLux page. I saved the pictures but now I can't find the page that I thought I saw this on.
Was this a members truck? Curious if there is some back ground to the story.

Launching a boat takes on a whole new turn...
One has to wonder how this could happen, I have launched boats hundreds of times on far steeper slipways and the worst time was at Port Alfred in the Kowie River when I slipped on the slipway, breaking three ribs as I fell on my left arm. This was not even a month after having had a burst appendix op and I was scared the wounds would open so I tried twisting as I fell. In hindsight, not a very good idea but at least the appendix wound did not reopen.

Robb the registration is RSA (Bellville in Cape Town), but if the owner is a member here he may be reluctant to come forward with the full story.

I see no boat or trailer, so their should be a good story/explanation on what, how, when it happened.

I figured it might be something like that. It would be curious to know the background behind it.Hoppy wrote:These pictures made the rounds a few years ago
I have seen recoveries after someone was drunk and drove into the water.
Several years ago I lost a good friend who was supposed to meet us for some camping and trail running. We were expecting him around 11pm. He never showed up. We looked all weekend after contacting his parents. A few days later his truck was found in one of the local lakes. He had fallen asleep at the wheel and drowned.

Several years ago we were waiting for a good friend to meet us for a camping and 4 wheeling trip in some local mountains. My friend was supposed to meet us around 11 pm. He did not show up that night, we thought he was just running late and we were out of cel phone range. We never heard from him. We contacted his parents and looked for him. His truck was eventually found in a lake along the route he took. He had fallen asleep at the wheel and drowned.
